Laurence Gerber
Founder

Larry founded EPOCH Senior Living in 1997, driven by his passion for serving seniors and their families. He served as President and CEO until his passing in 2023.

Larry was a dedicated leader and mentor not only within the organization, but also in the senior living industry in New England for over 30 years. He was actively involved as the Board Chairman of Mass ALA and had served on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Senior Care Association and Hebrew SeniorLife.

Under his guidance, EPOCH Senior Living experienced significant growth as New England’s senior living provider of choice. Prior to EPOCH Senior Living, Larry worked as a Management Consultant at Bain & Company, and as a Senior Tax Accountant and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) at Arthur Anderson & Company. He served as President and CEO of the Berkshire Group from 1991-1997.

Larry received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Laurie Gerber
Chairperson

Laurie shares the same passion as her late husband Larry for serving seniors and their families.

She is an accomplished executive with over two decades of experience as a business leader. She holds a strong reputation for team building and collaborating closely with all constituencies, including clients, employees, business partners, and leadership teams to build successful companies.

Laurie is known for being a trusted strategic advisor, SEC/compliance expert, and a financial community partner. She was a public company and private equity firm Chief Financial Officer and has served in many roles, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Great Hill Partners, LLC; Chief Financial Officer at Meditrust Corporation; and Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, one of the Big Four accounting firms. She graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Rochester, earned her MBA from Syracuse University, and is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Personally, Laurie enjoys spending time with her three step-daughters and her beautiful granddaughter. Her one sweet pet, Eala, also holds a special place in her heart. Laurie is an avid walker and frequently visits Cape Cod.

Joanna Cormac Burt
Chief Operating Officer

Joanna has served as Chief Operating Officer of EPOCH Senior Living since 2001.

From 1999 to 2001, she served as Senior Vice President, overseeing all of the communities that EPOCH owns and manages. Prior to joining EPOCH, Joanna spent twelve years in various nursing home management roles. Her experience includes service as an Administrator with Hillhaven, where she worked from 1987 to 1996.

Joanna also worked at SunBridge Healthcare as the Regional Manager, responsible for the daily operations of 1,250 skilled nursing beds. She is a Massachusetts Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and has a BS in Business Administration from Fitchburg State University and an MBA, which she received in 1996, from Northeastern University.

Debora Pfaff
Chief Financial Officer

Debora has served as Chief Financial Officer for EPOCH Senior Living since June 2003.

She was previously Vice President of the Meditrust Companies, a healthcare real estate investment trust in which she was responsible for overseeing a portfolio of $2.5 billion of healthcare investments. From 1992 to 2002, she managed a national portfolio of over 400 skilled nursing, assisted living and other healthcare-related properties.

In her role at Meditrust, Debora conducted due diligence on various corporate acquisition targets and real estate investment opportunities. She actively participated in secondary public offerings of both stocks and bonds in the United States and Europe and worked closely with lending institutions and rating agencies. Debora is a Certified Public Accountant and was a senior manager in the healthcare practice at KPMG. She received her BS summa cum laude from The University of Rhode Island.

Beth Anderson
Vice President

Beth has been with EPOCH Senior Living since its founding in 1997.

She has conducted financial, legal and operational due diligence, and secured financing for and closed deals on over $250 million in assets. In addition to negotiating deal documents, Beth also negotiates significant company contracts. She obtains zoning and permitting for the construction and redevelopment of senior housing. Through her strong relationships with state regulators, she has secured licensing and approvals to operate from public health departments throughout the country.

Beth also manages the legal affairs, risk management, and budgeting for the company. Prior to joining EPOCH Senior Living, she worked for Oasis Healthcare, a senior living company with 10 communities, where she was responsible for acquisitions. Beth holds a bachelor's degree from Simmons College and a JD from New England School of Law.

Michael Gordon
Chief Investment Officer

Michael has been a valued member of the EPOCH Senior Living leadership team since 1998.

For many years, he worked alongside our founder, Larry Gerber, as they identified and vetted potential sites that resulted in the successful development of 16 of EPOCH Senior Living’s properties.

As Chief Investment Officer, Michael is responsible for focusing on driving new initiatives, improving market research, procurement, and employee recruitment and retention. He will continue to lead EPOCH Senior Living as it grows through development and acquisitions into the future.

Michael has more than 25 years of senior housing and post-acute care industry experience. Prior to joining EPOCH Senior Living, he was director of reimbursement for PRISM Medical Group, a long-term care company that specialized in providing rehabilitation, nursing home management, and home care services.

Michael holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from Bryant College.

Alicia Seaver
Vice President of Memory Care Operations

Alicia joined EPOCH Senior Living in December 2011.

She is responsible for the operations of Bridges® by EPOCH memory care assisted living communities under the direction of EPOCH Senior Living's Chief Operating Officer, Joanna Cormac Burt, and for maintaining the unique culture and personalized approach to care across all Bridges® communities.

Alicia is a Memory Impairment Specialist certified by the National Institute on Aging, and she serves as an expert educator and trainer for Bridges® by EPOCH associates, families, and the greater community. She has more than 25 years of experience in the senior living industry, including her role as Executive Director of the flagship Bridges® by EPOCH community in Hingham, for which she was named Mass-ALFA Executive Director of the Year.

With her extensive experience and deep understanding of various forms of dementia, Alicia supports the Bridges® teams in making a difference in the quality of life for those living with memory challenges.

Adele Pepin
Vice President of Marketing

Adele joined EPOCH Senior Living in May 2019 as the Senior Director of Marketing.

Within a short period, she was promoted to Vice President of Marketing. Adele is responsible for driving the strategic direction of marketing and communications. She leads and works closely with agency partners to create and implement traditional and digital campaigns that convey the company’s brand and messaging with the commitment to seniors and their families.

Her depth of experience, passion and commitment to help older adults allows for a great understanding of the market’s needs and expectations. Prior to joining EPOCH, Adele was the Senior Director of Marketing for a regional senior living provider for five years and worked as the Vice President of an advertising agency for 12 years. Adele holds a BS from Worcester State University and MBA from Assumption College.

Tina Martin
Vice President of Sales

Tina joined EPOCH Senior Living as the Corporate Director of Sales in June 2019.

Tina was promoted to Vice President of Sales and is responsible for all aspects of sales management and the execution of sales strategies and tactics as she oversees all Senior Advisors at EPOCH Senior Living’s communities. Tina brings over 25 years of expertise to her role. Prior to joining EPOCH, Tina held several positions within the senior housing industry, including Sales Specialist, Area Senior Director, and District Director of Sales and Marketing.

She began her work in the industry as a Director of Community Relations, building her expertise from the ground up. Prior to joining EPOCH, Tina was a Regional Director of Sales for two senior living organizations for a combined total of 11 years and has a combined 15 years of sales experience in the skilled nursing industry.

Kerry LeBlanc, LPN
Regional Director of Quality Assurance

Kerry has more than 12 years’ experience in senior living.

She began her career as a Medical Liaison and then shifted to the Assisted Living industry in 2010. Kerry has held many positions in the Senior Living field, including Memory Care Nurse, Wellness Director, Nurse Trainer, and Regional Director of Resident Care. In her Regional Director role, she was responsible for oversight of 11 communities in Massachusetts with an interdisciplinary team, as well as being responsible for EOEA compliance, high-risk incident review, profit and loss assessment, and S&P implementation.

Kerry received her LPN degree from Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she graduated with honors and received scholarships for academic success. She is an American Red Cross certified BLS Instructor, and volunteers as an adult English Language Literacy Tutor in her hometown of Worcester.

In her role with EPOCH, Kerry is responsible for providing clinical leadership and oversight to the wellness and operations teams in the assisted living and memory care communities.

Michael Toce, ADN, RN
Vice President of Wellness Services

Michael joined EPOCH Senior Living as Vice President of Wellness Services in 2023.

As Vice President of Wellness Services, Michael is responsible for managing and coordinating the clinical outcomes, policies and procedures for all EPOCH Senior Living communities. In addition, he develops and implements education and training for the wellness teams within all EPOCH communities and conducts peer reviews that ensure quality of care and regulatory compliance.

Michael is a veteran in the field of senior living, having worked in various leadership roles for the last 15 years. Prior to joining the EPOCH Senior Living team, Michael served in several senior living management roles where he was responsible for multistate regulatory compliance, quality management techniques, and resident safety for senior living communities in New England, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Prior to that, he served as an Administrator for Yale University School of Medicine. His work also included the creation of a strategic alliance between MIT, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard, where he and his team tracked concussions in professional athletes, including players for the New England Patriots football team. Currently, the study is being used to trace minute changes occurring in the brain and early-onset memory loss.

Erica Labb
Director of Team Member Engagement and Culture

Erica was promoted to Director of Team Member Engagement and Culture in 2023.

As Director of Team Member Engagement and Culture for EPOCH Senior Living, Erica is responsible for shaping team member experiences and cultural strategy through the creation and growth of company programs that support and empower people as well as foster an inclusive, welcoming environment.

Erica began in elder care in 1995 as a Direct Caregiver and then as an Activity Assistant. Over the years, she dedicated herself to learning senior care from the ground up and became an Activities Director, Marketing Director, Program Director, and Executive Director at Bridges® by EPOCH at Westford where she served for five years. Erica believes strongly in the way Bridges® marries compassion and understanding of dementia and embraces a successful business model that puts families first.

In the role of Director of Team Member Engagement and Culture, Erica works closely with hundreds of team members at the 11 Bridges® by EPOCH communities and five Waterstone senior living communities to develop long-term strategies and promote key initiatives to achieve a culture of excellence in service, team member engagement, and team member retention.

Bonnie Loglisci, Certified Dementia Practitioner Trainer/Manager
Regional Director of Operations
Bonnie Loglisci brings over 15 years of experience managing independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities in the greater NYC area.

As a regional leader for EPOCH Senior Living, Bonnie is responsible for the overall operations of Bridges® by EPOCH Memory Care Assisted Living in Connecticut and four Waterstone Senior Living communities in the organization.

In her role, Bonnie travels frequently to each community to ensure EPOCH’s resident-centered policies, values, and highest standards of excellence in care, safety and quality of life are implemented every day. By providing on-site support for EPOCH Senior Living team members, she fosters positive employee relationships and guides these team members in best practices to help them develop professionally and to best serve Bridges® and Waterstone residents.

Jason King
Corporate Director of Culinary
Jason King joined EPOCH Senior Living in 2017 as Executive Chef of Waterstone at the Circle in Boston.

He was later promoted to Senior Dining Services Director for all Waterstone Senior Living locations, and since 2023, Jason has served as the Corporate Director of Culinary for the organization’s entire portfolio of communities.

In his role as Corporate Director of Culinary, Jason oversees the dining services teams at all Waterstone Senior Living and Bridges® by EPOCH locations to ensure the delivery of an exceptional experience for residents – from the creation of savory menus and utilization of fresh ingredients to attentive table service.

During his time as Senior Dining Services Director, Jason implemented Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point systems to ensure the safety of all residents and associates. Prior to bringing his talents to our tables, Jason worked at two of Boston’s most iconic restaurants and several well-known area hotels.
