EPOCH Jewish Hospice
EPOCH Hospice Care is accredited by the National Institute for Jewish Hospice and is only one of two hospices in Massachusetts to receive such accreditation, the only one in the Boston metropolitan area.
NIJH Accreditation means we provide the highest level of end-of-life care with rabbinic support and a thorough understanding and respect for Jewish traditions and beliefs.
All hospice caregivers, as well as the administrative and support staff, are specially trained by NIJH in:
- Jewish vocabulary and traditions
- Up-to-the-minute Jewish medical ethics concerns
- Caring for different groups within Judaism
- What to do at the moment of death
- Jewish aspects of consolation and bereavement
EPOCH Hospice Care honors the mitzvah to cherish life and live every day to its fullest. We strive to bring a Sukkat Shalom - a Shelter of Peace - to those we serve and to provide comfort, support, dignity and quality of life for our Jewish patients and their families.
