Audubon was an ornithologist who documented American birds in unprecedented detail. The Audubon Society was named in his honor. The presentation is part of EPOCH’s “Art Stories” series. |

The novel tells the story of two former best friends who meet again after not speaking for four decades and explores the causes of the rift. The discussion of the best-selling book will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14. Participation in the book club is free and open to the public. |

Jackson and the World Premier Band have toured Canada, Japan and Korea, performing music of the ‘90s and today with funk, dance, originals and R&B. |

Her repertoire includes works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and other classical composers. She has performed across the U.S., England, Norway and the Netherlands, and has been featured in live performance on WGBH Boston. |

| 2:00 p.m. | Learn about John Brown and slave trade at EPOCH on the East SideLocation: EPOCH Assisted Living on the East Side PROVIDENCE—Dr. Morgan Grefe, The Rhode Island Historical Society's Director of Education and Public Programs, will discuss John Brown’s involvement in the slave trade at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at EPOCH Assisted Living on the East Side. Her one-hour lecture will focus on a 1764 voyage from Providence to Africa made by a ship named Sally. Both Brown and his brothers invested in this ship and in the possibilities for success and fortune represented by this risky business venture. |
