The American Health Care Association (AHCA) recently awarded a 2008 Step I Quality Award to EPOCH Senior Healthcare at Melrose. AHCA acknowledges award recipients for their commitment to quality by employing systems and processes that lead to continuous improvement—in the quality of care provided to ensure residents enjoy the best quality of life possible.
According to AHCA President and CEO Bruce Yarwood, the quality awards are the most prestigious recognition of quality within the long-term care profession. “These achievements place an establishment at the forefront of organizational and performance excellence,” says Yarwood. “Recipients of these awards have proven that their dedicated frontline caregivers, administrators, nurses and physicians are committed to providing quality care and to meeting residents’ needs.”
Step I award recipients have demonstrated an organization-wide commitment to person-centered care, defined its principal customers and their expectations, and has indicated how it is striving to meet their needs.
