EPOCH Senior Living
About Us

Company History/Growth

EPOCH Senior Living was formed out of a deep commitment to ensuring seniors enjoy a happy, carefree – and healthy – lifestyle.

The company was founded by senior care professional Laurence Gerber in 1997 whose goal was to redefine the senior healthcare and senior living industry. His vision was the development of a healthcare continuum that could effectively serve as many people and as many needs as possible.

EPOCH was born with the acquisition of CMI, a long-established senior care provider who shared Larry’s vision of a campus continuum concept. What started as a cluster of high-quality skilled healthcare centers in the Boston area, is now a regionally focused, comprehensive senior living and healthcare company.

EPOCH previously operated communities in the Southeast and the West, but then decided it can most effectively serve seniors by offering a broader spectrum of services within a more concentrated geographic area. After the sale of its non-New England properties, EPOCH broadened its array of services adding ancillary healthcare services to its core assisted living and skilled nursing offerings. EPOCH is now a unique regionally focused company providing a full spectrum of integrated health care and residential services for seniors.

Now recognized as New England’s Provider of Choice for seniors, the EPOCH continuum now includes:

  • Independent Living
  • Assisted Living
  • Skilled Nursing Care
  • Rehabilitation
  • Memory Care
  • Home Care

Each service EPOCH offers reflects a philosophy of embracing each individual’s physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. The result: a network of communities and services that help seniors thrive.

The company’s mission is being further realized as EPOCH expands its independent living offerings with new state of the art campuses in New England. As EPOCH looks toward the future, it will continue to address the needs of seniors so they may enjoy a comfortable and dignified lifestyle.
